Our history stems from many years manufacturing inserting machine envelopes for the UK and European transactional mail and direct mail sectors.
We are based in the UK and like all simple but great innovation, from a problem many of us overlook, great solutions are found. We faced increasing demands from our customers not only to remain competitive but to show continual improvement for their business. As the largest cost drivers were beyond our control, as an envelope manufacturer there was an increased desire to increase operational efficiency, in our own factories and also for our customers so we looked at where we could make reductions without forsaking product quality or performance.
What we discovered was quite amazing. As we developed Packmail, we quickly learned that other problems were created which we needed to resolve to bring Packmail to market. We actually realised that PackMail would not only offer environmental benefits by reducing packaging consumption and waste but would improve operational efficiency through the supply chain from envelope manufacturer to the mail production facility.
Pallet usage was reduced, valuable storage capacity was released, fewer pallets to move around each facility or ship to inserting facilities. The Packmail concept was born.
To pack envelopes in this format required reengineering of the envelope design to ensure envelopes remain completely flat and in a soild block. This new development was Autoflat – which looks and operates just like any standard inserting envelope.
Finally, we invested further and developed the PackMail wrapping machine.
All of this helps to significantly reduce the needless consumption of cardboard boxes throughout the envelope manufacturing and mail production industry.
