What is PackMail?
PackMail is a packaging system for envelopes which does not require the use of conventional cardboard boxes to transport envelopes from envelope factories to mail production and inserting facilities.
Instead of cardboard boxes, the compact pack of envelopes is sandwiched between two rigid cardboard end panels and held in place by a film band. This means packaging materials are significantly reduced by approx. 60%.
Packmail is more compact which means you can get more envelopes into the same space. This means more product on each pallet so compared to the same quantity of envelopes supplied in cardboard boxes, that means fewer pallets. This optimizes storage space, maximizes vehicle space and means fewer journeys.
Every activity in a production business attracts an overhead cost. At the factory, pallets of finished goods are usually taken from the envelope machine into storage awaiting despatch. Then pallets are shipped.
When finished goods arrive at the mailing facility, pallets are unloaded and processed, perhaps moved to a storage depot before being moved internally from stores to the inserting machines. When empty, pallets are then removed. Imagine the number of pallets used and how many times handled, if you could reduce this by 30% or more – that’s a huge saving for your business.
Operators love PackMail because it uses Autoflat envelopes which are specially designed to improve inserting, reducing the risk of machine stoppages, increasing inserting efficiency and output.
All of this is good for envelope producers and mail inserting companies.
